One of my closest friends just came back from a long trip to China, where he was negotiating with manufacturers for the niche product he sells… that’s not a lot of detail, but for obvious reasons.

This morning we’re talking about the Pay Per Click campaign he had me put together while he was away, and all of a sudden, inspiration struck.

Within the span of thirty minutes, I’m storybooking 5 video ideas that we’re going to put together, upload to Google video and YouTube, and launch what hopefully will be a viral video campaign.

I hung up with him about 5 minutes ago, and I’m chomping at the bit to see the finished product. It’s going to take everything I’ve got to focus on the rest of my business today… and I know he feels the same way.

As this thing unfolds, I’ll let you in on some of the details, what worked, and what didn’t.

This is going to be fun.

And if it works, I expect his competitors will be left scratching their head, wondering what hit them.

Making the Most of Viral Video

What I came up with goes way beyond just uploading some videos to YouTube and hoping they catch fire.

When the dust settles, I expect that my client, my buddy, will have a list of several thousand raving fans, many of whom have purchased retail from him, some of whom will have signed up as wholesale distributors… paying extra for exclusive area rights… and a built in mechanism to relaunch the campaign year after year.

In the process of building that responsive list he’ll have massive brand name power behind the product.

Now I just need to negotiate what percentage I get for re-engineering his entire business.
