Hello Jack,

I am a day trader that made my own online course and wanted to use an affiliate program to bring clients in.

Word of mouth has been my major tool for getting clients and I have been very intimidated to create and install information on my web site.

I bought the PAP through your link and would like to thank you for making the installation and process very easy to follow.

This is the first time I have used a ftp program and change wording in code.

It was a breeze, I am almost finished with the campaigns and your fantastic videos made it easy and exact.

I was going to take a week to do it and I am half way through in the first evening.

Cheers to you and thanks.
Joel

Hi Jack:
I clicked on your link to purchcase IDEV. I set it up on an alternate domain and I am using paypal cart. I am having trouble with my homestead storefront, that said that they do not support php for the cart integration. Can I set up the cart integration on my paypal account? Have you heard of anyone using IDEV with Homestead storefront(owned by ebay)?

Thanks,
Maureen

Chris,
Earlier this week, I finished putting together 20+ videos that will be released over the coming weeks on a separate website.

On this website, I'll do a review of Idev.

I'll give you a summary of my review in a sec, but I've learned that I probably won't be able to offer an incentive for folks to buy through my affiliate link because of the way the Idev affiliate system works. In a nutshell, if you're already cookied by some other affiliate, nothing you do will allow me to get credited for the sale.

So I'll offer the extras as a purchase option. I'm still putting together the 'extras' so I don't have any pricing info yet.

Okay, my review, in a nutshell.

If you're running an affiliate program for one site, Idev is a great option. If you're running Idev for multiple sites and you don't need to get fancy with different commission %, then Idev is great.

Reasons not to buy Idev:
You can't see the source code - it's encrypted.
Your server needs Ioncube installed or dl() enabled (I'll explain this more later) but this is the same for JROX I believe
You want one program for multiple sites and the % commission is different.

Reasons to buy Idev:
Easier to setup
Easier to change the default look and feel
Easier to provide custom "creatives" for your affiliates

As I mentioned... I will be announcing a site launch that will have about 20 to 30 videos released. These videos cover how to install and use Idev, from start to finish.

The advanced stuff will be on sale at this site and the other one. I suspect it will be a combination of online videos for advanced strategies and tactics along with a DVD or CDROM of the same, plus templates, code, PDF's, mindmaps, and more.

Have a great weekend.

Dang it Jack ... when will your Idev Affiliate evaluation be posted?

I've been waiting to purchase SOMETHING through your links for a month or more.

Since I wasted so much time and money with JROX JAM, I really don't want a second go around.

I appreciate your insights, tips, and know-how. Now I'm ready to begin putting all of it to good use.

Thanks in advance?

Hey Chris,
I don't personally have experience with JROX but I've heard good and bad from third hand accounts.

Just FYI, Idev is encrypted too... but you can talk to the developers at Idev (who are reachable by phone in the US) and they told me that if there are files you need access to that you can get them unencrypted on request. There are a few core files they won't unencrypt for copyright protection.

Also, Idev uses Smarty templates and even though I'm not a fan of that templating system, it does give you the ability to edit just about everything on your site, layout, etc. And by the way, when I say I don't like Smarty, it's something that 99% of the world will never notice. I don't like it because I'm a coder and the Smarty philosophy is different than mine.

I digressed off onto a nerd tangent.

Back on track...

Yes, securing SS and Tax id numbers is something that's important and rarely discussed. In some videos I have for PAP buyers I say that what I like to do is not request this info at all and then come back and get it once the affiliate reaches a certain threshold. Fact is, most affiliates don't promote after they sign up. So why ask them for their SS # until they show they can send buyers?

Even if you have an SSL cert to protect the info in transit over the web, storing it in a mysql database is not safe, in my opinion. But to each their own.

You'd be surprised at how cavalier some folks are with their SS#.

Very interested in either Post Affiliate Pro or Idev Affiliate and awaiting your Idev Affiliate review.

I tried JROX JAM, actually having purchased, but unhappy with their encrypted coding -- I'd like to see what they are doing through my site, the requirement to advertise for them -- not even offering me an affiliate arrangement for such advertising, among other issues.

One question that I have not seen addressed yet is what is the security when dealing with affiliate SS and tax ID numbers? Certainly I'd be apprehensive to provide such information to an unsecured site and am sure others will be as well.

Hopefully your Idev Affiliate review will be available soon!!

Many thanks to you for your helpful site!
