I think I should point out, that what I’m referring to here is a “how to” on installing the very best software package that I have tested. This is not “how to create your own affiliate system from scratch”.

That would be a true DIY.

Great to hear from you, again.

There is definitely a tradeoff between paying for a done-for-you solution that might not have the flexibility to do what you need it to do, and investing the time to create a system that fits your needs like a glove.

In my particular case, the done-for-you options I investigated didn’t provide the flexibility I wanted in an affiliate system.

Some people prefer to purchase commercially supported systems as it’s less hassle in the long run. Some vendors will install it for you and if you get a hosted solution there’s no installation needed. But I guess there’s a market for DIY people.
